These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of TempFile, a temporary file sharing service. By using TempFile, you agree to these Terms.
1. The service
TempFile lets you upload files and share them through temporary links. Files are stored for a limited time you choose (up to 30 days for registered users, up to 1 hour for guests) and may be removed automatically when they expire, after a download limit is reached, or when you delete them.
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time, with or without notice.
2. Accounts
You may use TempFile as a guest or by creating an account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account.
You must provide accurate information when registering and notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
3. Your content
You retain ownership of files you upload. By uploading content, you grant TempFile a limited license to store, transmit, and display that content solely to operate the service (for example, to generate share links and deliver downloads).
You are solely responsible for the files you upload and share. You must have the right to upload and distribute any content you submit.
4. Prohibited use
You may not use TempFile for unlawful, harmful, or abusive activity. See our Acceptable Use Policy for details. We may remove content and suspend or terminate access if we believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law.
5. No warranty
TempFile is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or that files will remain available for any specific period beyond the retention settings you select.
Temporary file hosting is inherently short-lived. Back up important data elsewhere. We are not responsible for lost, corrupted, or unavailable files.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, TempFile and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of the service.
Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) EUR 50.
7. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless TempFile from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your uploads, your use of the service, or your violation of these Terms.
8. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Courts in Germany shall have exclusive jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country require otherwise.
9. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when they were last revised. Continued use of TempFile after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
